Here on this online bidding platform, you can watch and bid live just as if you were with us in person!  You will have listings available to you ahead of time. Prior to consignments closing, horses will be listed in RANDOM ORDER with placeholder Lot Numbers. Once the catalog finalizes, the online listings will be updated to reflect the catalog listings and selling order. You can absolutely bookmark your favorites at anytime, regardless of whether or not the final lot number has been assigned! Check back often! At sale time, you'll have REAL TIME video & audio and bid buttons available to you and you can join us from anywhere in the world with a reliable internet or cellular connection!

October 1st, early absentee bidding becomes available to you! This works much like ebay for those of you familiar with that. You can place your maximum bid ahead of time and the computer will then act as your agent at sale time, bidding on your behalf by minimum increments to keep you in the lead. This option is useful for those of you with poor internet/cell service at home, those who are unable to watch live for any reason, and also for you folks who find the fast pace of a live auction to be intimidating. PLEASE NOTE that if you place an early absentee bid and that animal comes into the ring with an announcement that changes the information that was available to you when you placed your bid (i.e. the horse cribs but that was not disclosed in the listing) we will NOT honor your pre-bid for your protection. We want you to bid with the most accurate information available!

For those of you who prefer to watch and bid live, you’ll have real time audio/video available to you at sale time! Make sure you have registered to bid, are logged in, and then hit the “View Live” button on the live feed!  You’ll be good to go and can participate just as if you were here in person!

For those of you using a mobile device, we do recommend downloading the Horse Auctions USA app for the best bidding experience! It is available FREE to download from the Google Play and App Stores!  If you prefer to use your browser, we do recommend using Google Chrome

ONLINE BIDDERS!!!

Be sure to READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS shown when you register to bid as many of the most commonly asked questions will be answered there! You are bound by these terms whether you read them or not so take the time to review them and reach out if you have questions. Pay specific attention to the 72 hour Soundness Guarantee and what it entails!

When you register for online bidding through Horse Auctions USA, you will have to enter a debit/credit card and a $1000 authorization will be placed by Horse Auctions USA to secure your online bidding ability. This is NOT a charge. It will show as “pending” with your bank until final payment is received by Hill Country Classic Horse Sale and then it will “fall off” and vanish as if it was never there.

***Please Note*** Although the initial pre-authorization is NOT a charge, be advised that any successful online bidder who fails to make final payment to Hill Country Classic Horse Sale for winning bids as required (i.e. defaults as a "bad bidder") WILL NOT HAVE THE PRE-AUTHORIZATION REVERSED and Horse Auctions USA will retain the $1000 and remit it to the sale company to be applied to the outstanding balance. Bid responsibly! When you are the winning bidder, the horse is YOURS and YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO PAY FOR IT.

If you need permission from your spouse, priest, neighbor, psychic, etc in order to purchase a horse, be sure to do so BEFORE you place a bid because calling after the fact to say "My husband/wife/cousin's best friend said I can't get the horse" "My dog pushed the button" "Aliens took my phone" etc isn't going to fly. When you click to bid and you win, it's yours and you need to pay for it. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for deadbeat bidding. Thank you in advance and while we've tried to include a bit of comedic relief with this warning, we do mean it! We'll do our part - we fully expect you to do yours! :)

"I won the bid! Now what?!?!"

First, congratulations on your new horse! The sale office staff will be reaching out to winning bidders by phone. Please be patient! Sale day is always a busy time for the office and the staff is working hard. Someone will be reaching out to you just as soon as they can. When they call, they'll be able to confirm with you your preferred payment method and your plans for pick up/transport. If you'll be paying by card, you will need to give the staff your card information at that time as they do not have access to your registered card (this is a security measure). You may also pay cash or check (accompanied by a current bank letter of credit) at pick up as long as this is completed by Sunday at Noon. Horses will need to be picked up by Noon on Sunday. If that is not a possibility due to transport (and we understand that is often the case), please reach out to Justin Nalls at (214) 463-8407 to make layover board arrangements.

All horses must be paid for in full prior to removal from premises.

All Online Bidding Questions should be directed to Bridget Lavigne at (336) 904-8903

info@horseauctionsusa.com

Be advised that when the sale is live, answering the phone is rarely an option. Texting will be your best option when the sale is live and ONLY if it is urgent and time sensitive. If you've got general questions, please reach out BEFORE the sale starts.

Terms & Conditions

When you register to bid, you are bound by these terms & conditions whether you read them or not so please, TAKE THE TIME TO READ THEM!

1. All purchases are to be paid in full on day of sale & prior to removal from premises.

2. If a dispute arises between two or more bidders, the auctioneer will decide the dispute or resell the item.

3. All horses are sold "as is where is" except in the event of a horse sold to be "sound" covered under the 72 Hour Soundness Guarantee. In all other cases, the auction company assumes no liability for any guarantee made by the seller. Any horses sold to be "sound" and found to be otherwise must be reported to Sale Management within the 72 Hour Time Frame.

4. The auction company is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss incurred in connection with the sale.

5. Purchaser assumes responsibility for items when "sold".

6. Statements made on day of auction take precedence over previously written material.

7. Transportation is the responsibility of the Buyer.

8. There is a 4% Buyers Premium added to all winning internet bids.

INTERNET BIDDERS PLEASE NOTE! When you register to bid, Horse Auctions USA will place a $1000 preauthorization on the credit or debit card that you register with. This is NOT a charge, just a preauthorization. Your mobile banking may send a notification that appears as a charge - AGAIN, it is just a preauthorization. The $1000 will show as "pending" and then never complete but rather, will just vanish as if it was never there.  Once the sale is complete, this preauthorization is released for all non-winning bidders. Winning bidders will have the preauthorization lifted once final settlement is made with the auction company. If for any reason you as a winning bidder fail to make final payment to the auction company before the open of business on Monday, you understand that Horse Auctions USA will finalize the $1000 preauthorization and remit it to the auction company to be applied to your bill. Further, you understand that Horse Auctions USA will charge your registered card for the full amount due to the auction company for your winning bids. BID RESPONSIBLY and remember, your bid is a legally binding contract! You are responsible for your winning bids.

72 Hour Soundness Guarantee: Horses sold as SOUND in the ring for $1000 or more are sold with a 72 Hour Soundness Guarantee. This is defined as "No observable lameness, no cribbing, no weaving, clear sight in both eyes, sound of wind. Should you buy a horse in the ring sold as sound and find it to have any of the above listed conditions, you must contact sale management within 72 hours. What is NOT covered: Observable lameness means just that - gait abnormality observed in the normal course of movement. Failure of flexion tests or unsatisfactory x-ray findings are NOT included. Regardless of flexion or radiograph findings, if a horse travels observably sound, they are considered sound for the purposes of this guarantee. Suitability for a specific discipline and/or a horse's riding ability are in no way covered by this soundness guarantee. The guarantee is exclusive to soundness as defined above. In order to be covered by the guarantee, the horse MUST BE PURCHASED IN THE RING. You must be the high bidder IN THE RING for any guarantee to apply so if you want the guarantee, be the bidder!  If at any point a horse is sold to be "as is" or "need maintenance" there is NO guarantee. If a horse is "no saled" in the ring and then purchased after, there is NO guarantee.

Pre-Purchase Examinations: PPEs are welcome at Buyer's expense PRIOR to the auction. Remember, the first "P" in PPE stands for PRE, not POST. The 72 hour soundness guarantee is limited entirely to the parameters above. If radiographs and a full PPE are something you as a buyer feel very strongly about, you'll need to have these things done BEFORE the auction, not after.
