Horse Auctions USA App versus Website
You may participate in online bidding either through our mobile app or on our website. If you are using a phone or mobile device, we do recommend utilizing the Horse Auctions USA app as our users overwhelmingly find it easy to use on their devices. Our app is FREE to download on both the App Store and Google Play store. Simply search "Horse Auctions USA" and download!
Alternatively, you may wish to use your computer or a browser. While our website works on all browsers, we do recommend using Google Chrome as it tends to be the most up to date. Simply go to bid.horseauctionsusa.com and click "View Auction" beneath the 2023 National Clydesdale Sale. You DO NOT have to be a registered bidder in order to watch the sale on sale day! Anyone can watch! However, if you think you might be interested in bidding, go ahead and get registered to bid PRIOR to the start of the sale! That way you're good to go and won't miss out on the horse you have your eye on!
Whichever option you use, make sure you are in a place with a strong internet/cellular data connection! When we go live on sale day, the livestream you see will be in real time with NO delay on our end. However, we cannot control the connection on your end! If you plan to watch and participate live online, make sure you're in a place with a good signal! If you happen to live in a rural area with spotty service, you can still participate through our absentee bidding option!
TWO WAYS TO BID!
You may place prebids prior to the start of the sale. Prebidding/Early Absentee Bidding becomes available to you 14 days prior to sale day!
This is a useful feature if you will be unable to watch live on sale day, have poor cell service/internet connectivity, or just prefer to bid in a relaxed manner without the pressure of a live auction. Pre-bidding works just like eBay! You'll place your maximum bid then sit back and let the computer do the work for you! The computer will only raise your bid incrementally as needed to keep you in the winning position!
PLEASE NOTE that if a horse comes into the ring and an announcement is made or something is visible that was not disclosed in the information that was available to you ahead of time (i.e. - horse is announced to crib, horse is visibly lame, was injured on the trailer, has a large scar that wasn't mentioned, etc) and there are prebids placed on that horse, we WILL NOT honor those prebids for your protection. We want you to bid with confidence and the most accurate information available. No need to send you an unwelcome surprise!
You can increase your maximum bid if needed at any time!
Live Bidding on Sale Day
When we go live at sale time, you can watch in real time with NO delay and bid right from your smart phone or computer, just as if you were with us in person! On sale day, a "View Live" icon will be visible under the sale listing. Make sure you're registered and logged in (you'll know you're logged in if you see your name in the upper right hand corner!) You'll have real time video & audio with bid buttons so you can bid right along with the folks who are there in person!
Membership Required! Bidder participation in the 2023 National Clydesdale Sale does require membership in the Clydesdale Breeders Association of the USA, Clydesdale Horse Association of Canada, American Shire Horse Association, or Canadian Shire Horse Association. Potential buyers who are not members of the listed associations shall be required to become a temporary member of the CBUSA for a fee of $10. This includes a 1 month temporary membership with all member privileges excluding voting rights. Alternatively, lifetime memberships are also available to all non-members and will be discounted during the sale to a fee of $100 (normal price $200). YOU MUST OBTAIN MEMBERSHIP, TEMPORARY OR OTHERWISE, IN ORDER TO BE APPROVED TO BID.
REGISTERING FOR ONLINE BIDDING
Beneath every horse listed in the 2023 National Clydesdale Sale, you will see a prompt that says "Register To Bid" You may click this under ANY horse listed in the sale to register. (It doesn't matter which horse) When you click on "Register to Bid" you will come to a Sign In screen. Current registered Horse Auctions USA users can just go ahead and sign in here. NEW USERS need to click "No Account? Sign up here" located at the bottom of this screen. Follow the prompts to register.
PLEASE NOTE! You will need to enter a valid credit or debit card for online bidder registration and Horse Auctions USA will place a $1000 pre-authorization on this card. This is NOT A CHARGE - it is a pre-authorization that will fall off and vanish at the completion of the sale. Some mobile banking apps will send a notification out that looks like a charge and this inevitably causes some confusion. Again, it is NOT a charge and if you get into your mobile banking, you'll see that $1000 listed as "pending" and it will not complete. In this day and time, this has become an unfortunate necessity to make sure our bidders are in fact real people. That pre-authorization will automatically fall off on our end at the completion of the sale. When it reflects on your end will vary depending on your individual bank. Final payment for any winning bids will need to be made directly to the Sale Office at the 2023 National Clydesdale Sale. Winning bidders should contact the Sale Office when they are done bidding for the day to confirm payment method & pick up arrangements. (815) 247-8780
ALL ONLINE BIDDING QUESTIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO BRIDGET LAVIGNE WITH HORSE AUCTIONS USA (336) 904-8903
