Catalog Horses will SELL FIRST and Open Consignment Horses will follow. Here on this online bidding platform, you can watch and bid live just as if you were with us in person!  You will  have listings available to you ahead of time, you’ll know the hip number of your favorites and the order they will sell in. This will make it easier for our online bidders to participate and hopefully get the horse(s) they have their eyes on! At sale time, you'll have REAL TIME video & audio and bid buttons available to you and you can join us from anywhere in the world with a reliable internet or cellular connection!  ABSENTEE BIDDING As soon as a horse, pony, mule, or donkey is posted, early absentee bidding becomes available to you! This works much like ebay for those of you familiar with that. You can place your maximum bid ahead of time and the computer will then act as your agent at sale time, bidding on your behalf by minimum increments to keep you in the lead. This option is useful for those of you with poor internet/cell service at home, those who are unable to watch live for any reason, and also for you folks who find the fast pace of a live auction to be intimidating. PLEASE NOTE that if you place an early absentee bid and that animal comes into the ring with an announcement that changes the information that was available to you when you placed your bid (i.e. the horse cribs but that was not disclosed in the listing) we will NOT honor your pre-bid for your protection. We want you to bid with the most accurate information available! For those of you who prefer to watch and bid live, you’ll have real time audio/video available to you at sale time! Make sure you have registered to bid, are logged in, and then hit the “Play” button on the live feed (that "play" button will appear on sale day)!  You’ll be good to go and can participate just as if you were here in person! For those of you using a mobile device, we do recommend downloading the Horse Auctions USA app for the best bidding experience! It is available FREE to download from the Google Play and App Stores!  If you prefer to use your browser, we do recommend using Google Chrome You will need to register with a credit/debit card in order to bid online. Please note that a pre-authorization for $500 will be placed on your registered card. This is NOT a charge, just an authorization to verify you are indeed a real person with a real card and is a good faith hold to allow you to bid. This authorization will fall off once the sale is complete and any purchases you have made are paid for. You DO NOT have to pay for your purchases with this card – cash or check at pick up is perfectly acceptable!  Please be advised that there is a 3.5% processing fee on all card payments.  Horses need to be picked up by NOON on SUNDAY!  If that timeframe won't work (and we know it won't for some of our out of area bidders) please reach out to sale management. They can assist you with layover board until your shipper is able to pick up. Please note that boarding charges will apply. If you need any assistance with online bidding or have any questions pertaining to it, please call/text Amber Lee at (336) 564-7650.  Please be sure to do so BEFORE we start the horse sale on Saturday at Noon. Soundness Guarantee

Livingston Stockyard

Horses sold as SOUND for $3000 or more are sold with a 48 hour sale company soundness guarantee as defined below. All horses sold for under $3000 or sold to be “as is” (regardless of price) are sold with no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied, by Livingston Stockyard.

If a horse is sold for less than $3000 or sold for any amount as “as is” or “needs maintenance” you are buying the horse as is, where is with any guarantee being solely between the buyer and the seller. Please listen to announcements on each horse as they come in the ring so you are clear on how the horse is being sold!

SOUND is defined as follows for this sale:

  1. TRAVEL - No visible lameness/does not limp. The horse travels soundly, hitting the ground evenly on all 4 limbs. Observable lameness is the standard for guarantee purposes. Failed flexion tests on a horse who otherwise travels sound will not be considered an unsoundness. Likewise, x-ray findings on a horse who travels sound will not be considered.
  2. VICES – The horse does not crib/wind suck. The horse does not weave.
  3. WIND – The horse is sound of wind with no observable breathing abnormality
  4. EYES – The horse has clear eyes with no visual impairment in either
  5. BITE – The horse does not have an overbite “parrot mouth” or an underbite “monkey mouth”
  6. STALLIONS – Stallions over the age of 18 months have both testicles descended and visible
  7. GELDINGS – Geldings are NOT ridgelings

***To have the guarantee apply, you MUST be the winning bidder IN THE RING***

Sale Management cannot make guarantees on things they do not witness firsthand. If a horse is a “no sale” in the ring and you follow the owner out back, discuss things, then come to a purchase agreement, THERE ARE NO SALE BARN GUARANTEES as we have no idea what was said out back between the buyer and the seller. If you want the guarantee, be the high bidder!

Should you buy a horse sold to be sound and find any of the above conditions ONLY not met, you MUST contact Sale Management within 48 hours of the sale.

Soundness does not guarantee ride!!! Under no circumstances is any guarantee of any kind made regarding any horse and its riding abilities/suitability. There are far too many variables when it comes to rider and horse to predict or guarantee how a particular horse & rider get along. The soundness guarantee is exactly that – soundness only!
